John Alder

Head of Boys Athletics, John joined Dean Close in September 2007.  He studied at University of Exeter - BSc Sport & Exercise Science.  He specialises in Rugby but also coaches Hockey and Athletics.

John's personal sporting achievements include: England U18 Schools Rugby, U19 Training Squad.  His coaching achievements include:  West England U14 Boys Hockey Finalists and an unbeaten Rugby Tour of Ireland with Kings School Gloucester.

His sporting hero is Andrew Johns - "The greatest Rugby League player ever.  He was unrivalled at the top level for 12 years.  He had a reputation of being a really hard trainer and competitor and also partied just as hard!  I admire the fact that away from all the fame and professionalism he truly enjoyed playing the game and playing with a group of mates."
