Sixth Form Scholarships

The School offers scholarships, exhibitions and bursaries to talented young people for entry into Sixth Form.  The areas of talent recognised are Academic, Music, Sport, Art, Design Technology, Drama and Choral.  All scholarship candidates are required to pass the School’s entry exams.

Scholars are highly valued and often play key roles within the School.  They are expected to be role models to their peers, inspire others, have an exceptional work ethic, enthusiasm for their subject, be motivated and set high standards for themselves.

The A level courses studied at Dean Close are chosen because they are challenging, innovative and well-respected by universities.  At least 10% of each year group apply to Oxford and Cambridge and many more to the top ranking Russell Group universities.

An Extension Programme coordinates a wide variety of extended activities run through all Departments (numerous inspiring opportunities that are outside the syllabus) and aims to stimulate creative, physical and academic thinking through Scholar Society meetings, the Critical Essay Prize, extension lessons, trips, masterclasses, lectures, etc.
