Most Sixth Form pupils choose four A level subjects in the first year, which will lead to AS qualifications at the end at that year. Three subjects will normally be continued to the full A level (A2) in the second year.

In order to undertake the normal A level course we expect pupils to have obtained a miniumum of six grade B and two grade C subject passes at GCSE with A/B the standard minimum requirement in those subjects intended for further study.  GCSE guidelines are available for each A level subject although the final decision about suitability for a particular subject lies with the Director of Studies.

It is not usually possible to study an AS level only in the Upper Sixth.
