Cross Country

Dean Close Prep School is set in beautiful grounds which pupils can enjoy whilst participating in their regular cross-country practice. In recent years cross-country has gone from strength to strength, with two well-attended weekly clubs for both the seniors and juniors and regular successes at school competitions.

The 2016/17 season has been no exception, this year pupils have enjoyed success on a District, County and even National level. Our junior teams both performed well in the Cheltenham U11 District League, winning the individual girls’ title and the girls' team coming a close 2nd. Three of our young athletes also qualified to help Cheltenham defend their County title with two going on to run in the National race.

Our seniors also had unprecedented success with the U12 boys' team winning the District trials in November where a further five athletes qualified to run for Cheltenham at the County Championships. At this event one of our U12 boys managed to win the race and qualified to represent Gloucestershire, along with an U12 girl in the National race in Cardiff.
A mixed U12 team also won the inaugural Rendcomb Mud Run.
